Manager Maintenance & Repair EMEA – Moerdijk

NewPort Europe is specialized in transportation of chemical liquids, food stuff and gases in tank containers. Main trade areas are Europe, North and South America, Middle East, Africa, India and the Far East. NewPort Europe is responsible for all commercial and operational activities in Europe, the Mediterranean, the Middle East, Africa and India.
The Manager Maintenance & Repair EMEA is responsible for managing regional tank container Fleet in EMEA in an effective and cost-efficient way.
Responsibilities
· Manages and maintains NewPort owned material to standard that meets NewPort’s quality and safety requirements
· Assuring that timely repairs and maintenance are performed in compliance with the procedures set by NewPort
· Reducing depot-through time
· Manages depots efficient and effective in order to reduce costs and improve the Fleet utilisation
· Monitoring the quality and accuracy of in-service estimates provided by repair depots.
· Complete, correct and processes administrative data, ensuring a high quality of data in the NewPort Transport Management system
· Implement improvements on processes and procedures
· Coordination of claims
· Manages the EMEIA M&R team
Main tasks
Improvement
· Identify problems and implement improvement opportunities for each stage of the business process, guidelines, and procedures.
· Proactively respond and report improvement opportunities to the management.
· Implement improvements in business process, guidelines, and procedures.
Technical maintenance of new existing material
· Identify technical developments and problems to material.
· Provide technical support and assistance in the event of incidents and emergencies.
· List inventory of equipment repair, control, modify and coordinate repairs and input of all relevant information into the NewPort Computer System.
· Ensure tank containers are maintained to the agreed quality specifications.
· React, alert and take actions on flaws and failures.
· Monitor and control the technical work and functions of the depots.
· Provide input for investment requests.
· Monitor and ensure that all test certificates after statutory testing and repairs are available.
· Monitor the safety and cleanliness of equipment and take actions for any safety issue.
Manage Depots
· Manage outsourced depots, falling under NewPort’s responsibility.
· Instruct and monitor assignments for repairs.
· Ensure that the appropriate test certificates are available.
· Maintaining close contacts with survey companies, classification bureaus and depot management.
· Address to the business residual loads and additional cleaning cost.
· Report findings to the Global Fleet Manager.
· Oversee depot improvement by performing audits.
· Concludes SLA’s and cost agreements with depots.
· Reduce the average depot-through time of a tank container to improve the idle time and to increase the utilization.
· Bi-weekly meetings and daily consultation with NP Operations/Planning department regarding the locations for immediate and forecasted demand for available tanks to focus on.
Administration
· Collect data to monitor progress in line with the defined goals, advises on irregularities in compliance and checks agreed prices from the suppliers.
· Identify differences in interpretation of administrative data and irregularities in data and take appropriate action.
· Perform work outside the indicated result area as and when deemed necessary by NewPort management.
Who are we looking for?
· + 3 years relevant work experience in a similar position
· Fluency in English & Dutch
· Knowledge of IMDG and local logistic legislation
· Knowledge of ITCO ACC repair criteria and technical details of tank containers.
· Knowledge of the multimodal transport sector
· Knowledge of software applications
