About the Role
FareHarbor, a Booking holding Company, is looking for a full time Frontend Engineer to join one of our Engineering teams in Amsterdam, to work on our core products. In this role, you will deliver and maintain frontend components that implement the features and functionalities owned by your team. You are expected to be able to own the frontend side of the delivery of your team, including the architecture and technical design. You will have support from our frontend platform teams, and have access to resources like a design system component library, and various other libraries and components that are available in our frontend platform.
What you'll do here:
- Deliver and maintain features by combining and/or implementing components in our frontend platform
- Contribute to a safe and productive working environment.
- Design and implement sophisticated new functionalities with a strong focus on reliability, reusability, and scalability.
- Write code that is clean, secure, well tested and documented.
- Thinking creatively; you're willing to consider different solutions and methods for reaching your desired outcome.
- Proactively pursue personal growth, understand new technologies, and share knowledge with colleagues.
- Collaborate on developing a realistic roadmap for your team.
- Contribute to improving the Frontend Architecture at FareHarbor.
Requirements:
- Technical skills
- Have 3+ years experience working with large-scale production codebases and mission-critical systems
- Strong expertise in component based frontend architecture
- Experience with at least one component based javascript framework (Angular, Vue, React, etc…) and its concepts. (we are currently migrating our frontend to Vue3)
- Comfortable writing HTML5, CSS3, and cross-browser compatible code
- Deep understanding of javascript core concepts
- Proficient knowledge of frontend design patterns
- Technical curiosity and attention to details, high-quality software development approach
- Strong understanding of testing standard methodologies and familiarity with at least one testing framework (Mocha, Jest, Karma, Cypress, etc…)
- Knowledge of JSON, web-services, REST, security principles
- Some knowledge of frontend build tooling (e.g: Webpack and Rollup)
- Some knowledge of CI/CD tooling
- Behavioral skills
- Solution solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Adaptable, proactive, and willing to own and take responsibility.
- Stays up to date with the latest and the greatest technologies released in the front end community
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Comfortable with a fast-paced startup environment.
- Experience of working in a multi-functional Agile Team.
