About the Role
As a Front End Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our client-facing web applications. You will work closely with the design team to create responsive and intuitive user interfaces that provide an exceptional user experience. You will also collaborate with our back-end developers to ensure seamless integration between the front-end and back-end systems.
Our team is small and agile, functioning almost like a startup within a larger organization. We work with a relatively new codebase and move quickly, taking on a wide range of end-to-end responsibilities. Therefore, each team member must be highly self-driven, proactive, and responsible, with a strong sense of ownership over their work. You'll find a lot of opportunities to influence team dynamics and processes, making a visible impact on our direction and success.
What you'll do here:
- Build user facing features for the leading software for tours and activities using TypeScript, Vue.js and other modern front-end frameworks
- Ensuring that our applications are responsive and accessible across all devices and platforms
- Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code that follows industry best practices
- Collaborating with the design team to ensure that our applications have a consistent look and feel
- Working with our back-end developers to design and implement RESTful APIs that integrate with our front-end applications
- Writing automated tests to ensure that our applications are reliable and scalable
- Contributing to code reviews and participating in team meetings to ensure that our development process is efficient and effective.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience in front-end development, working with large-scale production codebases and mission-critical systems
- Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and TypeScript
- A clear vision on front-end technology, solid knowledge and understanding of web component based development
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue
- Good understanding of software design patterns and principles, including SOLID
- Good knowledge of web content accessibility guidelines
- Experience with front-end testing frameworks
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
Bonus Points:
- Past experience working with greenfield projects and/or startups
- Experience with back-end development
- Experience with Python
- Experience with domain-driven design (DDD)
