Job Description: Temporary coverage for Director of Merchandising for Kids Digital.
This person will lead a team to drive the forward looking merchandising and assortment strategy for future seasons, set expectations to optimize current sales and actions to read and react to trends. This person will be integral in connecting product priorities to brand strategies to ensure we are elevating the right product against both brand and business goals. They will direct the team to deliver on critical moments and intersection points to both influence upstream opportunities as well as dial in plans and execution for down stream deliverables.
This is a role that is great for strategy, team leadership, tangible business accountability, and action. Navigating internal gates and deliverables while leading a retail business is a unique skill to gain in this space and can serve well in all facets of merchandising.
Key Accountabilities
Overall
" Accountable to defining & driving strategic intent of every product within Digital.
" Accountable to franchise health across Direct Digital, through effective assort, buy, and trade decisions.
" Influence Digital Marketing Planner to ensure moment of truth experience and visual reflection of the strategy for digital platforms.
" Communicate Gender business performance and opportunities, consumer trends, & competitive landscape with Cross-Functional teams.
" Stay connected to relevant gender trend and consumer insights at Marketplace level.
" Influence and adopt close to market product opportunities through GEL and T-100 programs via Consumer Merchandising partnership.
Assortment Curation
" Accountable to deliver seasonal, holistic, consumer- right assortment strategy and develop detailed assortments by digital platform.
" Partner with DSM on buys for a gender in Digital.
" Influence and partner with Geo Merchandising teams on multi-season product assortment capacity and strategies.
" Support adoption of LPAA / MBL assortments and influence refinement opportunities to serve consumer needs
Trading the Business
" Drive in-season business results to achieve KPI's, plan and strategy; leverage weekly business results and marketplace trends to influence North America Consumer Merchandising and North America Brand / Brand Planning.
" Drive a clear and strategically aligned Geo Buy process, in partnership with DSM and Consumer Client, for a gender across Digital
" Conduct Digital weekly and monthly Business Review (WBR) and comprehensive seasonal hindsight.
" Drives discussion, alignment and action in OTB process across team.
" Align with DSM on excess inventory movement within Digital via pricing and promotional levers and to Unite.
Team Leadership
" Prep cross-functional partners for seasonal execution at Go-To-Market moment.
" Partnership with Marketing and ND Consumer Client (Digital/Geo Merchandising) to align on key seasonal product stories and prioritization.
" Support ongoing engagement with Consumer Merchandising partners to influence opportunities to serve ND consumer segment
" Highly effective and engaged member of the Digital Gender and Consumer Gender Merch LT's providing a rich resource for consumer, product assortment, and buying product, assortment, buying context.
" Grows and develops talent within the Merchandising function & drives engagement in Culture & Community for connection, networking and mentorship amongst team.
